A New Least-Squares Nonconforming Mixed Finite Element Analysis for Second Order Elliptic Problems

  • Abstract

    In this paper a new least-squares nonconforming mixed finite element scheme for the second order elliptic problems is analyzed. The optimal order error estimates are obtained without requiring to LBB consistency condition under H1 broken norm for primary solution and the flux solution. The superclose properties are presented by use of some typical characters of the elements and the mean value approach. In addition, the global superconvergence result is derived based on the interpolated postprocessing technique.
